Artist, educator. Born in Vancouver in 1944, Judith Schwarz works in sculpture, painting, and installation. Schwarz received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Fine Arts from York University. She has had solo and group exhibitions in institutions such as the Helen and Bina Ellen Art Gallery, the Charles H. Scott Gallery, the Art Gallery of York University, the Art Gallery of Windsr, Anna Leonowens Gallery, P.S.1, Pari Nadimi Gallery, the Power Plant Gallery for Contemporary Art, the Toronto Scuplture Garden, and Mercer Union Gallery. He work is included in private collections in the United States and Canada, and public collections such as the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Art Gallery of Windsor, the Canada Council Art Bank, the City of Vancouver, the National Gallery of Canada, and York University. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Visual Arts Department at York University.
